About Studioplex

Studioplex connects students, faculty, and schools producing provocative architectural design work worldwide. Developed through UCLA’s Laboratory for Cross Cultural Studies at UCLA Architecture and Urban Design the site collects and displays architectural design projects of students created within a studio context and directed by an educator. Studioplex focuses on the studio context to enrich architectural discourse while expanding its production and communication to an international audience. Studioplex is an innovative forum for contemporary architecture in our shared global community. Studioplex provides a venue for ongoing global dialogue and propels the discipline forward.

How To Participate

Join Studioplex today. Registration is free. Studioplex is organized into four levels: Studios, Schools, Projects, and Exhibitions. Students are invited to submit their projects at the project level by following these steps:

  1. Create an account at http://studioplex.org/user/register
  2. Search for your studio.
  3. Click the "Add your project now" link in the Projects section of your studio's page. If you cannot find your studio in Studioplex then click the "Contribute a project" link in the "Contribute" menu to the right of the page.
  4. Upload your studio project(s), following the instructions on the form.
We encourage you to contact your instructor directly to post the studio you participated in to the site. Once your instructor has done so you can go back into the site and click the "My Studioplex" link, edit your project, select the correct studio, and re-save your project for it to become a part of the Studio level. Your project will then appear under its respective studio.

Exhibitions

Semi-annual exhibitions will be organized by distinguished curators or scholars to present emerging areas of contemporary design research. Curators will use Studioplex content from studios and projects as material for these exhibitions.
